With the help of Arno Waal we were introduced to the owner of this beautiful MAN TGM 13.280 – this unit fits 85% of our expectation and within our budget – buying an expedition vehicle is probably one of the most difficult things to do with a large number of options and combination thereof to select from, a very wide price range and final decision to be made without having the experience which we will have AFTER our trip.

A must event for any serious and aspiring owner of an expedition vehicle. An overwhelming presentation by probably all serious off road vehicle suppliers at lest the once based in Europe. We also made use of the opportunity to meet with Arno Waal, the owner of Expedition Truck Brokers, who we have been in touch with since several years now and had a most valuable information exchange in therms of what we were looking for and what is available on the market.

We have started to hunt for a used expedition vehicle with still little idea of what we wanted and needed for our eventual plan to travel through the world. The first opportunity lead us to northern Italy.

Although on a road trip from Switzerland with the destination Balkans, a detour at the beginning of our trip to Saalefeld in neighboring Austria with a visit to Actionmobil further strengthened our enthusiasm for these incredible vehicles.

Driving around and across Iceland in a rented Landcruiser, these expedition vehicles not only left a strong impression on us but triggered the idea in us to plan for an around the world trip in such a vehicle once I would retire.
